On Netflix, there is a tv- miniseries called “Cooked” starring Michael Pollan. The fourth episode discusses food made possible because of microbes – beer, chocolate, cheese, bread, etc. Watch this episode and write a page (single-spaced) about how microbes help develop a particular food item. You will have to do some research on your own to find more scientific reasoning – what species are involved? Does the food contain live microbes? Is it a diverse community of microbes? How does the microbe affect the taste of the food?
